During my Tantric training sessions, it was mandatory to practice yoga and begin the disciplines of movement with meditation. Each morning over the 3 month intensive program I would prepare with a basic Sun Salutation Flow practice. Over the years since then, I’ve discovered Kundalini Yoga and studied the teachings of Yogi Bhajan.
Not only do I continue to practice with the adaptation of external classes in Dynamic Flow, I now teach Bhajan's flexibility and foundation sequences to my Tantric students.
And now, after 12 years of Sadhana (daily discipline), I've prepared my own sequences so that I may introduce Tantra Metaphysical Anatomy Yoga Flow to you:
What is Kundalini Yoga?
Regular kundalini yoga practice may build self-awareness and greater strength in the body & mind.
The aim of yoga is to support us in reaching our highest potential and raise consciousness. It’s a dynamic blend of physical posturing, breathing techniques, meditation, mantra and relaxation.
According to ancient eastern practitioners, and Yogi Bhajan (who brought this to the West) these postures (asanas) stimulate the latent energy lying dormant at the base of the spinal column. This energy once activated, may rise up the spinal column and activate the pineal gland. This gland enables us to use the energy of the mind and emotions in a more positive and effective way.
What is Tantra Metaphysical anatomy Yoga Flow & why?
In knowing Tantra as an embodiment of our physical world woven within elemental and spiritual bodies (tattvas - the most beneficial 5 being air, earth, fire, water, ether), we experience polarity & Divine Union.
When we recognise that Yoga philosophy is the foundation upon which Tantra is built, then we truly begin to anchor the fundamental elements so that we may ascend toward our spiritual & kundalini awakening. This is Earth based when we contemplate our anatomy as humans.
Blended together, these elements incorporate the highest teachings, and have the ability to reduce stress and anxiety. By strengthening the nervous system, expanding our lung capacity and building core body & spirit for resilience, we open up to a higher mind. With additional reference to the Cosmos & adapting energy shifts as part of tantra asanas - we become free to move in ecstasy.
Our bodies contain cellular memory, so we may honour healing & experience expansion + pleasure when posturing - activating release along meridians that allow restorative realignment to be achieved.
